Tahko’s first snow ski track

Tahko’s ski season starts at Friday October 11, 2019.

Starting at the edge of Tahko Valley and heading towards Nilsiä, the first snow ski track will be 900 meters long. Grooves are located on both edges of the track, making it ideal for both freestyle and traditional skiing. The tracks are lit from dusk until close at 22:00.

Kuopio City maintains the first snow ski track and ensures that it is in good condition.

For those arriving by car, it is easiest to drive from Sääskiniementie towards Tahkolahti and leave the car near Tahko’s ticket office in the large P area (Tahkolaaksontie 1). If you want to go for a stroll, for example, from the centre of Tahko, it is best to walk along the illuminated path at the base of Ravintola Kaisla (Restaurant Kaisla) when there is enough natural snow.

The first snow ski track’s starting point is located next to Tahko’s P area. It is about 1.4 km to Nilsiä from there. (Map from 2017)
